Top Ten Halloween Activities With My Students

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

TTT again hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today is a Halloween themed freebie. So here are ten Halloween/Fall activities I love to do with my students.

1. Door Decorating contest! The kids wanted a zombie graveyard ^_^. Here is what our door looks like this year:

2. Staff costume contest. This year I have 7 paraprofessionals in my class plus me. We decided to dress up as Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts: Jupiter, Venus, and Mars and Chibi Moon.

3. Writing spooky stories: The students are either writing their own stories or using this website: http://www.plot-generator.org.uk/ to create their stories. Then they are designing a book cover for their story. We are putting them in an anthology and sending it home to parents.

4. PARTY! We are having a Harvest party tomorrow as an alternative for the students that do not celebrate Halloween. The kids are bringing in cupcakes and things and they will be reading their spooky stories.

5. On Friday the whole school goes all out and there is a haunted house and a dance with a student costume contest.

6. Decorating the classroom. We made a huge tree with tons of leaves. The kids made baskets of apples and corn. Lots of color for the fall season.

7. Pumpkin decorating. The kids love this one and they get so creative with it!

That's all I can think of for now. ^_^

  2. Oh, sounds like a lot of fun activities. The party and pumpkin decorating sound the most fun.
