Waiting on Wednesday: RoseBlood

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's "can't-wait-to-read" is:

title: RoseBlood
author: A.G. Howard
book birthday: January 10, 2017 (just in time for my birthday!!!)

blurb from goodreads:
In this modern day spinoff of Leroux’s gothic tale of unrequited love turned to madness, seventeen-year-old Rune Germain has a mysterious affliction linked to her operatic talent, and a horrifying mistake she’s trying to hide. Hoping creative direction will help her, Rune’s mother sends her to a French arts conservatory for her senior year, located in an opera house rumored to have ties to The Phantom of the Opera.

At RoseBlood, Rune secretly befriends the masked Thorn—an elusive violinist who not only guides her musical transformation through dreams that seem more real than reality itself, but somehow knows who she is behind her own masks. As the two discover an otherworldly connection and a soul-deep romance blossoms, Thorn’s dark agenda comes to light and he’s forced to make a deadly choice: lead Rune to her destruction, or face the wrath of the phantom who has haunted the opera house for a century, and is the only father he’s ever known.

A. G. Howard brings the romantic storytelling that Splintered fans adore to France—and an entirely new world filled with lavish romance and intrigue—in a retelling inspired by a story that has captivated generations. Fans of both the Phantom of the Opera musical and novel, as well as YA retellings such as Marissa Meyer’s Cinder, will devour RoseBlood.

Can I just say how much I can't wait for this book ^_^ It's the perfect combination of A.G. Howard's storytelling PLUS one of my most favorite stories EVER The Phantom of the Opera!!! AND it comes out the same week as my birthday! AHHH! I can't wait!

Facebook

As most of you know... I am not tech savvy. Blogging has opened up a whole new world of computer technology to me that I never would have gotten into before. My husband is even left dumbfounded at the things I know ^_^

That being said, I still suck at adding gadgets and stuff. BUT I finally figured out how to make a facebook page AND add it onto blogger! So stop by my facebook page everyone ^_^ It's easier for me to update fb than my blog because I'm still figuring out the blog on the phone thing.

Have a great day!

Top Ten Facts About Me

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

TTT again. Today is 10 random facts about me

1. I am currently working on the exams to become fully certified. Long story short, I completed all of the exams before I had Baby Jay. After Baby Jay was born and I went back to work, I was informed that all of the exams had changed and I had to retake everything. I'm almost done though. Please excuse the lack of posts until then.

2. I work with a D75 school in the Bronx. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a school for kids with severe disabilities. The program I work for has a partnership with a general education high school in which kids with severe autism and other disabilities can take classes with general ed students and get a high school diploma. Some go on to college and some go to trade schools. I love working there. There are hard days, of course, but the good out weighs the bad.

3. I was reading YA fiction way before I became a teacher, though right now being a teacher motivates me to read YA. I like keeping up with what my students are reading and recommending them new titles.

4. The most read books on my shelf are: Blood and Chocolate, East, and The Night Circus.

5. I have converted to e-books. I only buy books I can't live without. I never thought that I'd be an e-book person but sometimes if it's not on my phone, I don't read it.

6. I absolutely LOVE k-dramas and k-pop. I got into it when I had Baby Jay and I wasn't reading as much.

7. My family likes to go to anime conventions. When I was pregnant, I couldn't find a cosplay costume, so I wore this:

8. I was an art major in high school and I minored in it in college. I don't have much time to paint these days, but I draw with Baby Jay almost every day.

9. I prefer a stand alone novel over a series.

10. Baby Jay and I will be taking our first trip to a Barnes and Noble together this week ^_^
